Marina GARCIA CASTILLO

Bio

Marina Garcia-Castillo is a researcher within the Line of Gender and Sexual Diversity and Intersectionality at the research group GETLIHC from the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia. She is also a PhD candidate in the Gender Studies program at the Interuniversity Institute of Women and Gender (IIEDG) in Catalonia. She holds a BA in Global Studies from Pompeu Fabra University and an MA in Gender Studies from the IIEDG, with a specialisation in public policies.
She has participated in research and knowledge transfer projects at the Catalan and EU level on the application of intersectionality in various policy domains (including equality policies, education, security, and other sectoral policies) and specifically on the intersection of gender and sexual diversity with religious and cultural diversity. Currently, she is working on “Rights and Inequalities at the Intersection. Exploring equality policies and lived experiences of LGBTIQ persons from Muslim backgrounds in Catalonia” and “InterHEd. Intersectionality in higher education teaching” alongside other projects.
