My thesis, supervised by Cécile Robert (Sciences Po Lyon) and Pascal Bonnard (UJM Saint-Étienne), adopts the general approach of political sociology, specific to French-speaking research. The subject of the research is European public action aimed at supporting Russian civil society after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I approach it from a dual perspective: on the one hand, by studying European institutions (mainly the EEAS, the European Commission and the European Parliament) and, on the other, by analyzing various Russian pro-democracy organizations in exile. The primary aim of the research is to study the reaction of the European administration to the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine in terms of the positioning of different institutions and actors towards the society of the aggressor country, and to examine how the EU modifies its policy in this context. The other intention is to analyze the organizational and identity transformation of the actors of organized Russian civil society and to examine how they interact with the European administration.
