Bio
Dr. Dimitrios Argyroulis is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute for European Studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) participating in the Horizon RED-SPINEL research project (‘Respond to Emerging Dissensus: Supranational Instruments and Norms of European Democracy’). His research contributes to the ‘EU Economic Governance Instruments and the Rule of Law’ work package focusing on the interaction between national democratic procedures and the European Semester, as well as the politicisation of the EU economic governance. Previously, Dimitrios worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg exploring the legitimacy challenges to Eurozone’s monetary governance after a decade of multiple crises and their impact on the independence of the European Central Bank.
Dimitrios undertook his doctoral research at the University of Sheffield. His doctoral thesis advanced an explanation of the 2010-2013 EU economic governance reform based on the evolution of the Eurozone’s ‘sound money’ economic policy beliefs. He is a member of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES).
