The TRANS-INT project examines the transnationalization of far-right intellectual circles in Europe from the 1980s to 2020. It aims to understand how these circles have used cultural change and shared discourses to influence public debates on major issues such as migration and globalization. The project will analyze the influence of intellectual figures and institutions that have played a key role in disseminating the ideas of the New Right. The project will adopt a mixed methodological design combining a large-scale quantitative study to draw general conclusions with small-scale qualitative case studies, identifying specific detailed mechanisms, to examine how far-right intellectual circles have transnationalized between 1980 and 2020 in twelve European countries: Belgium, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany (North-West Europe); Greece, Spain, France, Italy (Southern Europe); Romania, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic (Central and Eastern Europe). Four national case studies (France, United Kingdom, Italy and Romania) will be selected for in-depth qualitative analysis.
