Bio

Meryem holds a master's degree in political science from McGill University and a bachelor's degree in economics and politics from the Université de Montréal (UdeM). She specialises in international political economy and social statistics. After working as an analyst and research assistant at several research centres in Quebec (CÉRIUM, CIRANO and IREC), she is now preparing a thesis in international relations at the CEE and the MaxPo at Sciences Po, where she is also a teaching assistant. Her research focuses on the evolution of energy policies. Her previous work focuses on the impact of changes in oil prices on the bargaining power of member countries of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). She is working under the joint supervision of Cornelia Woll (Hertie School) and Colin Hay (Sciences Po Paris).
